You go, girl!

Hello, Wisdom From The Couch subscribers!

I know that I have been off the blogging grid for the last few weeks, but there’s a good reason.  A very good reason!  I’ve been away from my blog but still writing furiously, because I finally have a book deal!

Yes, just last week, I officially signed a book contract with Central Recovery Press for my book entitled….wait for it…wait for it…yes, Wisdom From The Couch! CRP is an independent publishing house in Las Vegas, NV that publishes books on addiction and other mental health topics from a whole-person perspective.  They are a great fit for my book and I feel honored to work with them.  Thanks to Agent-99 (Linda Roghaar) for finding them and brokering the deal!

I am very excited and also daunted by the opportunity to write a full-length book about the wisdom of psychoanalysis.  It will take me about 6 months to finish the manuscript and then some prep time before it comes out in print, so 2014 may be the year that I join the ranks of the published authors of this world!

Thank you all for helping to get me launched into cyberspace.  By following my blog, you showed the publisher that I had an online platform and an audience of interested readers.  This was essential in their willingness to take me on as an unpublished author.  I couldn’t have done it without you!

My book will draw from the themes of my blog but it will be almost entirely new material.  I plan to keep up with the blogging over the next six months–although less frequently.  I have invited a few of my colleagues to post as guest bloggers, so stay tuned for some new voices and insights.

Cheers!

I think writing really helps you heal yourself. I think if you write long enough, you will be a healthy person. That is, if you write what you need to write, as opposed to what will make money, or what will make fame.

  1. As you said, “You Go Girl !!” Great gifts for all my friends in 2014! Looking forward to you talking in my ear, so to speak, when I get to read this wonderful accomplishment! Keep typing, blogging, typing, talking…it’s your gift.

  2. Great for you!  I remember meeting at the writers conference in San Francisco and you seemed very determined to get published – so congratulations on your dedication!  All the best in all you do!
